I am a Chartered qualified Physiotherapist of 16 years, trained in Fascial Release therapy and Swedish massage.
I am passionate about improving people’s lives, whatever is holding them back, whatever they want to achieve and whatever their background. I feel getting to the route cause of a problem is vital for achieving long term, longstanding goals.
A holistic approach underpins everything I do. I love to combine my Physiotherapy and massage training, to offer bespoke hands on treatments.
Looking after your health is so important and massage is just one of the ways we can achieve this. Taking time for us, to treat out body, to relax and unwind.
PHYSIO BACKGROUND
I have been a Physiotherapist since 2007 and have worked across many areas. This has given me the skills which I use with my clients in order to aid holistic assessment and treatment.
I still do some work for the NHS, specialising within Learning Disabilities (LD), complex needs and Neurology. My work within LD has given me a passion to ensure all groups of people in society have equal access to therapy across the population. It has given me additional communication skills and the ability to assess/observe the human body and behaviour by trusting my eyes and touch (When verbal communication cannot be relied upon).
I have good working relationships with other professionals and GP’s across Bristol/Bath and the wider area’s, so if required and with a client’s permission, I am able to communicate with them to ensure the best outcome.
BODYWORK BACKGROUND
I am trained in Massage, specialising in Swedish massage and Fascial Release to an Advanced level. This gives me a profoundly effective tool to treat a variety of conditions, based on my vast experience as mentioned above.
I use my massage and fascial release therapy to treat a variety of physical and emotional issues, ranging from pain, restriction, anxiety, to more complex neurological conditions. Each treatment is completely unique to the person and will be tailored to your needs. After hands on therapy, home care plans and advice can be offered where needed.
Fascial release is a gentle and none invasive treatment technique to help release Pain, restriction, stress and anxiety within the body. Read more about Fascial release from my home page.
I trained in traditional methods of Therapeutic Massage Therapy with “The Chartered Physiotherapists in Massage and Soft Tissue Therapies” in 2010 and then Fascial Release Therapy to the Advanced level with “The Exeter School of Bodywork”(SOB) in 2020 (Professional Massage and Myofascial Release Training) https://www.schoolofbodywork.com/
“These amazingly effective techniques equip you to deal with chronic injuries at their root. Learn to deal with the physical as well as emotional component of injury. For patients who feel they have tried everything, myofascial release can bring them profound pain relief, increased mobility and therefore a greater sense of well-being” (SOB)
A person centred approach is offered in a home based relaxing therapy room. (Home visit sessions can be arranged where needed if people have difficulty leaving the house) (Subject to travel costs)
